Briefed never collects, transmits, or stores your data anywhere. Your vault lives on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. We have no servers that store your information. We have no database. We cannot read your vault — because we never receive it.

None. Briefed does not collect any personal data, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind.
Everything you enter into Briefed — your identity, background, contacts, operating instructions, and memory entries — is stored exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service operated by Briefed or Turquoise Trail Consulting LLC.
Your vault is encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption before it is written to disk or to browser storage. The encryption key is derived from your password and never leaves your device. We do not have access to your encryption key and cannot decrypt your vault.
The Chrome extension stores your encrypted vault in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area accessible only to the extension on your device. The HTML version saves your vault as a .briefed file to a location you choose on your local file system.
Briefed does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
When you generate a briefing and paste it into an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or any other), your interaction with that AI assistant is governed by that service's own privacy policy. Briefed has no involvement in or knowledge of those interactions.
If you purchase a Briefed license through Gumroad, your purchase is processed by Gumroad, Inc. Gumroad's privacy policy governs that transaction. Briefed receives only a license key from Gumroad — no payment details, no personal information beyond what Gumroad shares as part of the transaction.
The Briefed Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:
chrome.storage.local on your device.No host permissions are requested. Briefed does not read, modify, or access the content of any web pages you visit.
Briefed is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because Briefed collects no data, changes to this policy are unlikely to affect your privacy in any meaningful way.
