Briefed never collects, transmits, or stores your data anywhere. Your Context Vault lives on your computer, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. We have no servers that store your information. We have no database. We cannot read your Context Vault, because we never receive it.

None. The Briefed app, meaning your Context Vault and the browser extension, does not collect any personal data, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind.
Everything you enter into Briefed, including your identity, background, contacts, operating instructions, and memory entries, is stored exclusively on your computer. It is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service operated by Briefed or Turquoise Trail Consulting LLC.
Your Context Vault is encrypted on your computer using AES-256-GCM encryption before it is written to disk or to browser storage. The encryption key is derived from your password and never leaves your computer. We do not have access to your encryption key and cannot decrypt your Context Vault.
The browser extension stores your encrypted Context Vault in chrome.storage.local, a sandboxed storage area accessible only to the extension on your computer. The HTML version saves your Context Vault as a .briefed file to a location you choose on your local file system.
The Briefed app, meaning the Context Vault and the browser extension, does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Nothing in the app phones home, ever.
When you generate a briefing and paste it into an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or any other), your interaction with that AI assistant is governed by that service's own privacy policy. Briefed has no involvement in or knowledge of those interactions.
This marketing website is separate from the Briefed app, and unlike the app, it does use analytics. We would rather tell you exactly what that means than hide behind the word "standard."

That last item is measurement of our own marketing, so we can tell which pages and which posts actually help people find Briefed. It is aggregate and it is not tied to a name, an email address, or an account.
What this site does not do: sell your data, run advertising, build a cross-site advertising profile, or share anything with data brokers. Google's and Ahrefs' own privacy policies govern the data they process on our behalf.
No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind exists inside the Briefed app, extension, or Context Vault. The distinction matters and it is the whole point: this website can measure that someone visited briefed.fyi and clicked a button. It cannot see, and Briefed has no way of ever seeing, anything you store or generate once you're using the product itself.
Two forms on this site collect information, and only what they need.
Form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms (Netlify, Inc.), and Prompt Pass emails are delivered through EmailJS. Both act as processors for us and are governed by their own privacy policies. Neither has any connection to the Briefed app or to anything in your Context Vault.
If you purchase a Briefed license through Gumroad, your purchase is processed by Gumroad, Inc. Gumroad's privacy policy governs that transaction. Briefed receives only a license key from Gumroad. No payment details, and no personal information beyond what Gumroad shares as part of the transaction.
The Briefed Chrome extension requests two permissions. The Firefox build requests one, storage, because Firefox does not require a permission for the sidebar:
chrome.storage.local on your computer.No host permissions are requested. Briefed does not read, modify, or access the content of any web pages you visit. That is the whole list, and you can check it against the manifest: the security page explains how.
Briefed is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because Briefed collects no data, changes to this policy are unlikely to affect your privacy in any meaningful way.
